Over the last month, Drupal Association leadership has seen a few key changes. Audra Martin-Merrick, the Chair of Board of Directors of Drupal Association, and Heather Rocker, the Executive Director of Drupal Association, have both resigned from their respective posts.

Baddy Sonja Breidert will be the new Chair of the Board of Directors. The Chief Finance and Operating Officer, Angie Sabin will take over as the Acting Executive Director of Drupal Association.

Audra Martin-Merrick resigned from her position as chair and a member of the Board of Directors on 16th February 2022. The transition is six months sooner than expected as the board term ends in October. She had served on the Board for over four years and held the chair position for the last 16 months.

To ensure time with family, Audra has scaled down the paid work she has taken on and the volunteer time which includes her board work for Drupal. She said,

"While I’m sad to step away from my term earlier than planned, I am excited about Drupal’s future and confident in the DA’s ability to help drive it for three reasons: (1) The Drupal Association has weathered the pandemic which was almost unimaginable in March 2020, (2) we have a solid strategy for the DA to support the project, and (3) we have a talented and dedicated board and staff in place to keep that work going. Our strategy is to drive Drupal innovation with three pillars: contribution enablement, advocacy for Drupal, and ensuring diverse revenue streams. "

On 22nd February 2022, Baddy Sonja Breidert accepted the nomination as the new Chair of the Board of Directors. She has been a part of the Board for the past four years and has served in the Finance Committee and as the Treasurer of the Executive Committee.

Heather Rocker resigned from her post as the Executive Director of Drupal Association, and her last day at work will be on 11th March 2022. She will be taking a new job and joining Amazon’s Alexa AI team to scale their academic-industry collaborations with a focus on equity, diversity, and inclusion. She has been the Executive Director since 2019; she is also the first executive director of the Women in Technology foundation and the CEO of Girls Incorporated of Greater Atlanta.

Until the Board decides on the new Executive Director, Angie Sabin the Chief Finance and Operating Officer, will lead the team as the Acting Executive Director of Drupal Association.
