As of the end of 2022, Fei has embarked on a new chapter of their Drupal career as a Scrum Master with Renesas Electronics. A developer at heart, but after ten years working with clients and agencies, Fei decided to seek new challenges where their experience and values could come together.

They are a passionate advocate for lifting people up, which can look like a lot of things. In many contexts, it means working to normalize imperfection in order to pave the way for collective growth.

They currently volunteer mainly with the Drupal Diversity & Inclusion initiative.

I first started dabbling in web design way back when Geocities chat rooms were still popular and animated gifs were running rampant. The DIY website form on Angelfire (oh, oh yes) didn't allow exactly what I wanted, so I figured out how to do it with HTML. Loving the world of code, I taught myself CSS and Javascript and eventually built an e-commerce website that I ran for a number of years.

In 2012 I started at VCAD for Graphic Design so that I could learn the tools to make the visuals more polished and professional. I began doing contract work as a web developer while in my first year of college, working very happily with small businesses and start ups. I loved the challenge of a start up and the need for a broad range of skills to get the business going in the right direction.

I have always loved computers as the possibilities are endless, given the right language and hardware. Today I am also exploring bot programming, WebVR, electronics hacking and microcontrollers and loving it for the very same reason.
