JOB DESCRIPTION

Position and Duties:

The actual salary shall be determined by the final candidate’s qualifications and experience.  In addition to the starting salary, employees in this classification shall also receive an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation pay. 

The Airport Department is currently recruiting to fill an Information Systems Analyst vacancy within the Airport Technology Services Section. This position is responsible for managing the airport's Drupal 9 Content Management System, which currently provides passenger and business services through the flysanjose.com website and digital wayfinding touchscreens throughout the terminals. This includes designing and implementing new features and functionality, establishing, and guiding the architecture, ensuring high-performance and availability, and managing all technical aspects of the Drupal Content Management System. This position works closely with the Airport Marketing division, Operations Customer Experience team and other stakeholders to ensure effective and intuitive implementations.  This position is required to be available for response 24/7 (beyond a normal workday and weekends/holidays.)

Typical duties for this position include, but are but are not limited to:

  • Develops strategies and implement plans to enhance the technical functionality and system performance of the Drupal 9 Content Management System.
  • Translates designer-provided mockups into mobile-responsive and ADA accessible Drupal 9 themes​
  • Creates and deploys web services using Drupal 9 core modules
  • Integrates third-party services on Drupal 9 via available Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) or web services.
  • Evaluates and selects Drupal 9 modules for desired functionality based on release and maintenance status, community dedication and usage, security issues and availability of documentation​
  • Implements code and configuration changes within the Drupal 9 framework and performs testing and resolves defects prior to deployment​.

Highly Desired Qualifications​:

  • Minimum of two years’ experience developing web solutions in Drupal and PHP scripting implementations in a LAMP environment
  • Ability to architect enterprise Drupal solutions including data, display, and information architecture
  • Advanced site-building experience including deep familiarity with Drupal modules such as CTools and Views
  • Minimum of two years’ experience creating custom Drupal modules
  • Minimum of two years’ experience building responsive websites using Drupal framework, PHP, HTML/HTML5, CSS/CSS3, and JavaScript/jQuery.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education and Experience: A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field and four (4) years of progressively responsible professional/journey level experience, of which at least two (2) years of experience include lead technical work in development, implementation and maintenance of computer systems, or application development and/or support.

Acceptable Substitution:

  • Additional years of increasingly responsible directly related work experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Completion of a Master's Degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one (1) year of the required two (2) years of experience which include lead technical work in development, implementation and maintenance of computer systems, or application development and/or support.

  • Possession of a valid State of California driver’s license may be required.

This Airport position requires a background check and a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) check.
