Job Duties

The Lead Web Platform Engineer will be responsible for managing the technical roadmap and the engineering team, which builds and maintains the enterprise content management system (CMS) for the Health Sciences at UCLA.  

In this role, you will provide technical oversight of the development lifecycle of the core Acquia/Drupal CMS of the Health Science schools. You will supervise the development team and corresponding development practices using proven agile development and deployment pipelines processes. You will not only be an expert in the Drupal framework but will also have a proven track record of managing enterprise web and digital platforms for a large, dynamic organization.

Job Qualifications

  • 5+ years of expertise in developing and managing production-quality web products
  • Experience leading and managing a technical team
  • Experience facilitating and leading architectural and technical decisions
  • Experience communicating concepts and ideas to engineers, creatives, business partners, and leadership
  • Expert in the Drupal framework, including being an active member in the Drupal community
  • Full-stack web development expertise using PHP, SQL, JavaScript
  • BA/BS degree or MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Experience with operational oversight and ownership of enterprise software products
  • Experience writing high-quality, well-documented code using test-driven development methodologies using Continuous Integration/Deployment (CICD) Agile processes
  • Experience building RESTful web services integrate external services into applications
  • Experience building User Interfaces and Prototypes from Wireframes and designs
  • Experience with atomic design components (Pattern Lab)
  • Experience with deploying to enterprise cloud hosting services (Acquia, Pantheon, or similar)
