In the realm of version control, the Configuration Management Initiative 2.0 has emerged as a significant development for Drupal 8. While the built-in config system is considered a massive step forward, the community's experience with building Drupal 8 sites over the past couple of years has revealed certain limitations. Native support for various common workflows is missing, and core's config APIs lack essential functionalities. Although contributors have offered workarounds, they often clash with each other, leading to a lack of universally accepted best practices.

To address these issues, the Configuration Management Initiative 2.0 was born. This project space serves as an open invitation to interested individuals to join the initiative and acts as a repository for meeting minutes, fostering collaboration and progress within the Drupal community.
