About

AmyJune Hineline is the Certificate Community Architect at the Linux Foundation, where she supports the organization’s certification and education initiatives by helping develop and maintain exams and related documentation within the Linux Foundation’s certification portfolio. She works closely with the certification team to support learning pathways and community engagement around open-source education programs.

Hineline is also a Drupal Core Mentor, where she helps guide new contributors through the Drupal contribution process. Her work focuses on lowering barriers to participation in open-source communities and helping contributors identify ways they can participate beyond code, including documentation, community support, and event organization.

Active in multiple open-source ecosystems, Hineline contributes to and supports initiatives across the Drupal, WordPress, and accessibility communities. She frequently leads and organizes first-time contributor workshops, helping newcomers understand how open-source projects operate and how they can begin contributing.

Within the Drupal community, Hineline has served in several roles, including Drupal Mentor Coordinator, DrupalCamp organizer, and member of the Drupal Community Working Group’s Conflict Resolution Team. She is also involved with the Colorado Drupal Association and contributes to broader community-building initiatives across the ecosystem.

Beyond Drupal, Hineline participates in accessibility and open-source advocacy efforts. She helps organize A11yTalks, an online meetup dedicated to accessibility topics and inclusive web development. She is also a member of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation’s Deaf and Hard of Hearing Working Group, supporting initiatives that improve accessibility and participation in open-source communities.

Hineline’s background also includes experience as a hospice nurse, which she says helps her remain connected to the perspectives and needs of end users when working on technology and community initiatives.

Outside of her work in open-source communities, she enjoys mycology, geocaching, and restoring air-cooled Volkswagen vehicles.
