Ricardo Amaro (ricardoamaro)

Ricardo is a Senior DevOps/SRE Engineering Manager currently living in Lisbon, Portugal and working for Acquia. He is a member of the Drupal Association and president at ADP - Associação Drupal Portugal (Portuguese Drupal Association) where he supports the community, organizing Camps, Meetups and DrupalDevDays 2018 at the north and center of Portugal. He is inspired by the Drupal community and it's power to change the world.

He had his first contact with open technologies with Linux back in the 90’s. He is also an expert in various tools like Linux, Drupal, Docker, LXC, Solr, Varnish...

In Portugal he worked both in the public sector and in the private sector, applying Agile techniques and encouraging the DevOps culture. He managed teams, development projects and operations also in South Africa, Germany and the United States. He is passionate about Software Freedom Rights and is a frequent speaker/trainer at IT events.
